Allegiant Air announced today that they will offer flights to and from Portsmouth International Airport in Pease and Sanford airport in Florida. The new route will commence on October 25.

The airline, which flew out of Pease until 2007, says it will be offering flights for as low as $99 roundtrip or $69 one-way. The flights will be twice per week, on Fridays and Mondays, taking off at 6.30 pm from Portsmouth airport.

The director of the Pease Development Authority, David Mullen, said that getting the route reinstated was no easy task, with frequent trips to Las Vegas to persuade officials from the airline to resume flying there. He even offered Allegiant Air a “no fee” incentive when flights resume.

Mullen spoke to reporters abut the new Allegiant flights :

“Allegiant is a very successful airline and we are really excited to have them bring scheduled service to Portsmouth, I am confident that with convenient and affordable flights to Florida the service will be very popular,”

The President of Allegiant Travel, Andrew C. Levy, said: “We are pleased to return to Portsmouth to provide affordable and convenient travel options to residents.”

Passengers interested in the route should note that the promotional price, mentioned above, will only be available for three days and must be ordered by the 22nd August. you can get further information or make reservations at their website , www.allegiant.com or Tel: (702) 505-8888.
