Evidence of alien life found on a meteorite that crashed into a field in Sri Lanka last December was nearly stolen by secret agents from a mysterious international space agency, a top government official in that country charged last week. But the reasons why the agents tried to seize the space rocks, according to the politician, are strange to say the least.
Known as the Anuradhapura Meteorites, the rocks landed in an open field outside Anuradhapura, a city of 63,000 in northern Sri Lanka, on December 8, 2013, during the Taurid meteor shower. The meteor shower is a rain of cosmic debris from the Encke’s Comet, which passes by the Earth about every three years.
But when scientists looked at the meteor fragments under a microscope, they found something about these space rocks that they hadn’t seen before — fossils.
The fossils were incredibly small and not what most people generally think of when they conjure up images of dinosaur bones and other prehistoric life forms. But what scientists found were microscopic formations in the rocks that appeared consistent with single-cell life forms. Not exactly the alien from E.T. , but nonetheless possible evidence that alien life exists elsewhere in the universe.
But then, according to a cabinet minister in the Sri Lanka government, representatives of what he described as an international space agency showed up, demanding that Sri Lankan scientists turn the alien life evidence over to them.
Wimal Weerawansa, leader of Sri Lanka’s left-wing National Freedom Front party — and the country’s housing minister — told a religious gathering at a Buddhist temple on October 23 that an unnamed international space research group sent a team of sudu mahaththuru to seize the space rocks, according to a report in Sri Lanka’s Daily Mirror newspaper.
The Sri Lankan term sudu mahaththuru translates as “white gentlemen.”
According to what Wimal told the Buddhist gathering, the “white gentlemen” wanted to seize the meteorites because the West fears that evidence of alien life will disprove creationism, the idea that a single god created human life — and in fact the whole universe — at an identifiable point in time.
“Why did they do this?” he asked. “It’s because they don’t want the world to know that creationism is a blatant lie. When it is proven that life outside planet earth exists, creationism would turn into a lie. This was a fact that was initially declared and proven by the Buddha and his teachings on the universe.”
The discovery of alien life proves that Buddhism is correct and Western religions have an incorrect view of the universe’s creation, according to Wimal.
A scientific paper published in the Journal of Cosmology in February said the metoerites contained “biological structures including acritarchs and diatom fossil fragments that are indigenous to the stones.” That is, alien life.
