Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin welcome a new baby boy! Hilaria took to Instagram on Wednesday, June 17, to announce the birth of Rafael Thomas, a baby brother for 21-month-old daughter Carmen. “We are happy to announce the birth of Rafael Thomas Baldwin,” she said. The baby’s second name is in honor of Hilaria’s surname before she became a Baldwin.
Proud daddy Alec posted the same photo to his Alec Baldwin Foundation Twitter account. Little Rafael is the third child for the 30 Rock star and host of WNYC’s Here’s the Thing . Alec and his first wife, Kim Basinger, have a 19-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin, who works as a model.
Throughout the pregnancy, the Baldwins have kept busy attending events and carrying on with work. Both Alec and Hilaria were at an event in the Hamptons just days before the birth of the new baby. On Saturday, June 13, Alec’s new play, All My Sons, opened in East Hampton, and a heavily pregnant Hilaria was there to support him. On Tuesday evening, just hours before baby Baldwin was born, Hilaria posted photos of the opening to her Instagram account.

Hilaria is a true fitness buff who kept herself toned and trim during pregnancy, and she made sure to share her tips and strategies for pregnancy fitness. She posted photos of the growing baby bump every two weeks during pregnancy, and proudly used the hashtag #baldwinbabybump .
Being pregnant, and a busy mother of a toddler, hasn’t slowed Hilaria down one bit. As Alec Baldwin’s wife , she’s even added more responsibilities to her life, becoming an Extra special correspondent as well as co-designer of Lexington Clothing. And that’s not all! Hilaria has a fitness and wellness book coming out January, 2016, and it’s sure to include some of those pregnancy tips.
Alec and Hilaria have both expressed their excitement about this new baby in the Baldwin family. Hilaria told the Daily Mail that she was looking forward to giving Carmen a sibling.
“We’re really excited to have another baby! We definitely wanted Carmen to have a sibling near her age.”
When the Baldwins first announced that they were expecting, Alec told Extra TV that he felt “blessed.”
“… blessed, very blessed. We’re having the baby and that’s almost surreal to me. How could we not want another one of these?”
And of course Alec Baldwin’s baby is clearly meant for an acting career. He was in a movie before he was even born!
