Agent Carter , the latest offering from Marvel Entertainment, has leaked intelligence on what fans can expect from the limited TV series focusing on the fictional World War II era spy.
People Magazine scored an exclusive sneak peek at Agent Carter ahead of its debut on January 6, 2015.
“In the clip, we see a hint of the marginalization Peggy suffers. An officer of the British Armed Forces, Peggy doesn’t receive the respect she deserves in America due to her status as a person strange men think they can call ‘darling’ — to which she answers, with steel, that her name is ‘Agent.’”
Meanwhile, Forbes contributor Merrill Barr got an early viewing of the premiere of Agent Carter and liked what he saw. After mentioning what he thought were problems with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , another Marvel Entertainment TV show, Barr wrote that “none of this is the case with Marvel Television’s latest, Agent Carter .”
Barr later explained how he liked how Agent Carter manages being tied into the larger Marvel Universe of movies and television series.
“In addition to the excellent character work of Peggy, the series is also quick to build excitement, partly because it’s managed to separate itself from the MCU. Traditional wisdom would dictate Agent Carter has to be even more fearful of the film side of Marvel because it can’t do anything too big that would potentially not line-up with 2014 events. But by the end of the introductory episode, Carter proves its willingness to go ‘TV big’ without risking damage to existing timelines, and that’s, arguably, the best thing it could have done.”
Rosie Narasaki, writing at Bustle , gave nine reasons why she’s looking forward to Agent Carter but she also provided some bits of information on who fans can expect to see in the series.
Kevin Fitzpatrick, at ScreenCrush , noted that the debut of Agent Carter will be “a double-dip with its two-hour January 6 premiere” that will feature the first two episodes of the series. He also found a Marvel press release that provided a synopsis of the third episode entitled, “Time & Tide.”
“‘Time & Tide’ — As Agent Carter closes in on Howard Stark’s stolen technology, Peggy’s secret mission could unravel when the SSR arrests Jarvis and a secret is revealed, on ‘ Marvel’s Agent Carter .’”
