Adele’s theme song to the new James Bond film Skyfall has been previewed online. The singer’s track is entitled “Skyfall” and was due to be released on her website on October 5 at 0.07, the precise date that would mark the 50th anniversary of the spy franchise’s release with Dr No.
Paul Epworth, who co-wrote and produced the track, has worked with Adele over her previous records, and they recorded their effort at Abbey Road Studios in London, and it has been announced that the song features a 77-piece orchestra too.
Adele had previously announced in a statement, “I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall . There’s a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end.”
She also revealed that the recording process was one of the proudest moments of her life and that she can’t wait to tell people she is a Bond girl. Critics have already started to alud the track and have compared it to famous Bond songs like Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever.
There were months and months of rumors over whether the most popular British singer of recent years would actually record a song for the film. Skyfall is set to be released on October 26 in the UK, and you can hear Adele’s song here .
