Two Workers Slack Off At Work To Recreate Famous Works Of Art Using Office Supplies

All workers get bored at work from time to time, and some of them pass the time doing office shenanigans they hope the boss doesn’t notice. But two bored officer workers in New York have taken things to a whole new level, re-creating classic works of art using only what’s available in the office, UPI is reporting .

Francesco Fragomeni and Chris Limbrick “work” at Squarespace — a web-site development company — in New York. According to Art Net News , the two guys got bored at work one day, and instead of scrolling through Facebook and Twitter yet again, like bored officer workers usually do, they decided to re-create a famous work of art using only what they could find around the office.

On their website, the guys lay down the two most important rules for their office art.

“All of the painting remixes are done at the Squarespace office in NYC. The only rules are that all props must be things found in the office and all editing must be done on a phone (Android or iPhone).”

This has led to some rather creative substitutions: office plants stand in for forests; tablecloths become tunics and gowns; snacks from the employee break room stand in for food props. And sometimes, other employees are brought in as extras, in case the scene requires more than two people.

And when animals are involved, the guys use masks. It’s not really clear why the Squarespace office would have animal masks lying around, so maybe the guys fudge the rules a little bit? It’s also not clear why there would be paint – several backgrounds are painted, although haphazardly – lying around the Squarespace office.

Besides their joint art project in their office, both guys have their own websites detailing their projects that they do in their personal time. Francesco Fragomeni “is a photographer and printmaker with a background in photographic process-based research.” His buddy, Chris Limbrick , is also a photographer, as well as a musician, when he’s not slugging it out at his day job.

The office art project began on Tumblr on November 3, and since then, they’ve branched out into their own Instagram feed and their own website. As of this post, it is not clear how the guys’ boss at Squarespace feels about two of his employees using work time to create art projects.
