Did you read about the cheapskate that left a $446 tip on a $5.97 bill last week ? Thankfully, a humanitarian stepped up to give a true example of generosity this week when they left a $1000 tip on a $60.42 meal.
Several details about the tip aren’t known (like who the waitress is, what restaurant it was, and who gave the tip) but Tumblr user Casual Cynic did relay a pretty sweet story about their mother and her dream to go to Italy.
According to Casual Cynic , an unidentified man walked into her mother’s restaurant, had something to eat, and then left without saying a word. He left a $1000 tip on his $60.42 meal along with the message “This is your ticket to Italy.”
Casual Cynic writes: “(MY MOTHER HAS) 8 YEARS OF ART EDUCATION AND SHE’S WORKING A WAITRESS JOB. IT’S PRETTY… SAD AND DISAPPOINTING, I GUESS. HER AND MY FATHER DIVORCED 6 YEARS AGO AND SHE HASN’T HAD A REAL JOB EVER. JUST BEEN STUCK IN A SMALL TOWN SHE’S NOT FROM. THIS MAN WHO WE HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE TIPPED HER 1,000 DOLLARS FOR A TRIP TO ITALY. WALKED OUT, NOT ANOTHER WORD. …YOU KNOW. JUST WHEN I START TO LOSE FAITH IN HUMANITY…”
