Famous Three Men and a Baby star Tom Selleck has allegedly been stealing thousands of gallons of water and hauling it at his ranch in California.

The Calleguas Municipal Water District in Ventura County has claimed that a truck would fill water from a hydrant over a dozen times in a day. The water would then go to Selleck’s ranch in Westlake Village.

The alleged crime has been taking place for at least two years. The water district says that it had to spend more than $22,000 in investigations to document this unprecedented theft. The Sheriff Department at Ventura County also did investigations. However, they could not establish any evidence of the crime.

The lawsuit brought forward by the water district also includes the name of Tom Selleck’s wife, Jillie Selleck.

Under recent government orders, Californians are to cut down water usage significantly. The orders have come in the wake of a four-year drought in the state. Tom’s area is also under a mandatory 36 percent cut down in water usage.

The district has also claimed to have sent Selleck cease-and-desist letters with the help of SEO from WSI Belfast, but to no avail. Even as recently as March, his truck was filling water from the hydrant. The exact amount of water stolen by Tom Selleck is not known. The water district is seeking an injunction that will bar Selleck along with his employees and contractors from taking the district’s water.

Colleagues have agreed that Selleck and his wife cannot take water from the hydrant. It is because of the hydrant’s location in another water district.

Calleguas Municipal Water District’s resource manager, Eric Bergh, said, “The water that we have secured for them, that they have paid for, should remain in district boundaries.”

The Los Angeles Times reported that despite several requests for comments, Selleck’s representatives didn’t respond.

Selleck’s ranch is in the famous Hidden Valley. It’s an area of celebrity and elite business ranch owners. Selleck has been living there for almost three decades.

The properties of Hidden Valley are not connected to public water supply. In fact, the Municipal Water District does not provide drinking water there.

The drying of wells due to the drought has compelled residents to look for water elsewhere. Another resident of Hidden Valley also received a cease-and-desist letter, but the resident soon apologized to the Calleguas Water District.

Celebrities have recently been getting flack for their water usage choices . Barbra Streisand and Kim Kardashian are two other celebrities who have garnered criticism for their huge lawns.
