Chris Brown has spoken about his infamous attack on girlfriend Rihanna, and has described it as the “greatest regret” of his life.
The US singer was talking to the English newspaper, The Mirror , about the incident, when he stated, “That night was the deepest regret of my life, the biggest mistake. But she loves me, what can I say? I’m forgiven … but, yes, I worked hard for it.”
Brown also added, “Sometimes you row, you fight, with the one you love and things get said, stuff spirals.”
The RnB star also made to retaliate to Seth MacFarlane’s jibe at the Oscars on Sunday night, where he said that the “unspeakably violent” movie Django Unchained was simply a “date night for Rihanna and Chris Brown .”
The 23-year-old said, “People attack me and criticise me, it happens all the time. But they don’t know me, and they don’t know us. It doesn’t bother me any more. Other people can judge us but they don’t know anything.”
Brown went on to add, “I’ve learned a lot since that night and I’ve grown up. I was very young and I took a lot of stuff, fame, for granted. I didn’t understand it. The support from those who do know me and the fans, who are incredible, got me through.”
Brown was sentenced to six months community service and five years probation after the incident in 2009, but he has since embarked on a lengthy PR schedule to repair his public image. Do you think that Chris Brown will ever truly be forgiven?
