Little People, Big World star Amy Roloff posted a photo of her parents on Instagram. The Roloff family matriarch is taking some time off this summer to travel, and while she was in Michigan, she stopped to see her mom and dad, Gordon and Patricia Knight.
Amy, 53, born Amy Knight, is kind of an enigma when it comes to her life before marrying businessman Matt Roloff and having four kids with him (twin sons Zachary and Jeremy, daughter Molly, and son Jacob). That’s not to say that she’s been secretive about it. Rather, there’s just not much to tell — at least, as far as LPBW fans are concerned. They’d much rather know about Amy and her current boyfriend, Chris Marek, or what Amy’s kids and grandchildren are up to.
Amy was born in Michigan, but it’s not clear where. As you can tell from the Instagram post embedded below, Amy’s parents have a cabin in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The area is popular with summer residents, retirees, and people who enjoy the outdoors. It’s not clear if Mr. and Mrs. Knight’s cabin is a summer home or if they live there. It’s also not clear if Amy ever lived there or spent time there as a child.
According to her website , growing up with andochroplasia dwarfism gave Amy her “can-do” outlook on life. Once she became an adult, she went to Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. She then made her way to the high-tech world of Silicon Valley, before winding up in Oregon and married to Matt. How and when she met Matt, and when she left California for Oregon, is not clear.
Now that her kids are out of the house and she’s divorced from Matt, Amy keeps busy with a variety of projects. She still helps out on the Roloff Family Farm during busy seasons, and when she’s not working the farm, she has her charity to keep her busy. She also tools around as a motivational speaker and, sometimes, even a restaurateur.
Little People, Big World is slated to return for its next season in September.
