Bethenny Frankel may be a fame-seeking Real Housewife Of… herself, but don’t look to her for sympathy when it comes to the massive plight of franchise fellow Teresa Giudice, because she doesn’t have any.
While Bethenny has had troubles of her own, Teresa Giudice’s recent scandal involving a multi-count indictment isn’t one Frankel feels is worth feeling bad about.
Bethenny addressed Giudice’s indictment while promoting her new talk show, Bethenny, at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills yesterday.
Frankel admits that being a reality star is a factor, but she sees no irony in lambasting the type of people who seek out Real Housewives style fame in the first place. She opines :
“My first thought today was, ‘Oh, if they weren’t on reality TV, none of this would probably ever be exposed.’ And it’s just funny how certain people are [like a] moth to a flame. It’s almost like — not that you want to get caught — but people who love to be in the spotlight often have a lot of skeletons in their closet. It’s just an interesting thing.”
The lady doth protest too much? Bethenny continues, saying she doesn’t have time to keep up with reality stars and their personal dramas — I mean, what kind of person is even remotely interested in that?
She adds:
“I haven’t paid that much attention. Do I feel sorry for them? No, I don’t. Not so much, because it broke the law. You broke the law and you went on television. That’s not really that smart… I feel badly for them because they have kids, and their kids didn’t sign up for this.”
It wasn’t really clear whether Frankel meant that the kids didn’t sign up to be splashed all over television, or just being linked with their parents’ alleged sins.
