Halo: Reach will “penalise” quitters

Now this I like. Halo: Reach developer Bungie is obviously as sick as I am of opponents rage-quitting from online games. It’s frustrating, childish, and frequently spoils the game for others.

However, quitters may not prosper in Halo: Reach , if Bungie has its way. Here’s the company’s Brian Jarrard explaining to Xbox360Achievements how Bungie plans to tackle mardy douchebags who disconnect when they start losing:

“I think one of the new things people will be excited about is how we’re going to be able to penalise people who are habitually quitting out of games, which isn’t exactly cheating, but it creates a really negative experience for everybody else in the game. We actually have new tools now to detect that and eventually, people who do this habitually will actually be penalised. We want to be able to remove them from the population so they can’t make everyone else keep having a bad time.”

Here that, whingers? You’re getting penalised . Exactly what these penalties will entail isn’t explained, but hoo-bloody-ray I say (so long as said penalties are tough enough). It’s great to see somebody finally being proactive about this.
