Organizers at X Games Tignes 2013 have cancelled the snowmobile freestyle exhibition following the death of Caleb Moore .

Moore passed away from severe brain trauma after his 450 pound snowmobile landed on his body during X Games Aspen.

Caleb walked away from his accident but eventually he was diagnosed with a concussion and a heart contusion. Caleb slipped into a coma and passed away on January 31 in Colorado.

In a statement, X Games owner, ESPN, noted:

“Our review of snowmobile freestyle continues. In the meantime, we have decided to forego the planned demonstration freestyle event at X Games Tignes.”

ESPN’s decision comes one week after the International Series of Champions canceled freestyle events.

Caleb Moore was buried Thursday in Wheeler, Texas.

Speaking to the Amarillo Globe-News Caleb’s brother Colten explained his time growing up with his sibling:

“He was always down to help out other people. Without Caleb, I don’t know what I would have done growing up because he was always there for me … I can pretty much say he taught me everything I know. When we raced together, he pushed me to go faster and made me jump jumps that I wouldn’t have done. Even if I couldn’t do it, he would push me until I could.”

Colten Moore, an X Games gold medalist, declined to comment on the cancellation of the Tignes event.

Caleb Moore was a beloved member of the freestyle snowmobile circuit, and the cancellation of the X Games Tignes freestyle snowmobile events shows the impact his death has had on the sport.
