Not all WWE superstars have it easy. Traveling over 300 days a year takes a toll on one’s body and mind, which is why tragedy has struck professional wrestling for decades. Chris Benoit is an unfortunate example of that. Pro wrestling is one of the hardest activities to do, and it can all culminate in either drug abuse or even worse — death. Bad mistakes have happened to multiple people who didn’t deserve it. Even in 2016, the WWE can’t seem to shake unfortunate events from happening to good human beings.
Alberto Del Rio and Paige are two of the latest victims of poor decision-making. For Del Rio, he was suspended from the WWE when the man was still with the company. There were rumors of him using testosterone boosters and judging by his appearance, it’s evident that could’ve been the case. After he was suspended, the WWE audience never saw him again. He was granted a release from the company shortly thereafter.

Del Rio’s girlfriend, Paige, a three-time WWE Divas champion, has also gotten herself into trouble over the last several months. She was suspended for 30 days for violating the wellness policy. While rehabilitating an injury, Paige was on the verge of quitting when Del Rio left the company. Luckily, she was reportedly talked out of leaving. For a woman under the age of 25 who’s done so much in the WWE, it would’ve been a terrible decision to leave.
A few weeks after her first suspension, the WWE released a statement about her second suspension from the WWE due to a violation of the wellness policy. This time, it’s 60 days that Paige is gone, but her health issues may prevent her coming back after that anyway.
Instead of remaining silent about his girlfriend, Alberto Del Rio released a statement about Paige’s second suspension in the WWE, according to SEScoops.com .
“It’s just like she said in her statement this afternoon. It’s just the same s***, different day my friend.”
“To be honest, I don’t care what they say or what they try to do. We are together and we are happy. I know a lot of people are not happy but regardless of whatever people say, we can be happy. We can be together. And we are going to stay together because we are happy.
“If someone is not comfortable or happy about it, we just don’t care. We are going to continue our life. Our families are happy and we’re happy. That’s all that matters.”
Paige has endured a lot of trials and tribulations since stepping foot on the main roster in the WWE. It was directly after WrestleMania 29 and AJ Lee was the Divas champion. She won the belt on her first night as a 21-year-old. Several years later, Paige is on the long train back to being on-screen. Like it was mentioned above, she could have returned after her 30 days were up, but a lingering neck injury stopped her from doing so.

Apparently, it’s more serious than many originally anticipated. In an earlier report by the Inquisitr , Paige’s father released a statement on his daughter’s misfortune and believes it’s best for Paige to just return home to the United Kingdom.
“My daughter has had a long-term neck injury, which imo has not been dealt with. I have ask my daughter to return to UK For help with this injury as help and direction in the USA has not been forthcoming imo,” said Paige’s father.
Is the former Divas champion’s father right? Should she just take a long hiatus from the WWE to return home and get better? It’s probably better than what she is doing right now. Alberto Del Rio should be supportive, and it sounds like he is. The WWE would benefit from having her back, as she’s a world-class talent. Hopefully, everything is figured out and Paige can return as soon as possible.
