Camila Cabello’s Instagram page is in the spotlight again this week after the 19-year-old posted a picture of her new “boyfriend.” The Fifth Harmony singer, who has been linked with Shawn Mendes, took to social media to set the record straight about her love life — sort of.

Camila Cabello posted a picture of Gavin, her new boyfriend, on Wednesday, Teen Vogue reported. The image was posted with the caption, “[with] my big strong boyfriend, Gavin.”

There have been reports that Camila is in a relationship with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes. The reports began surfacing in 2015 after the release of the duo’s platinum duet, “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” The two singers have consistently denied the rumors.

Camila Cabello’s Instagram debut of her “new boyfriend” Gavin Thomas is making headlines this week. And Gavin is no stranger to fame. The 6-year-old, who is the nephew of Vine celeb Nick Mastodon, became an internet sensation in 2013. Mastodon, 30, was one of the first Vine stars. He started putting Gavin in his videos in 2013 when he was just two, New York Magazine reported.

Although some people recognized Gavin, his memes only started going viral in 2014 after his uncle posted a video of a gecko walking on his forehead with a priceless reaction on his face.

“People started to comment about his reaction and how great it was,” Mastodon said. “And I was like, Let’s find other ways to capture him in funny situations and see if he can make that face some more. He just made a whole lot of faces; it’s just something he seems to be good at with even trying.”

A lot of celebrities have taken their time to show their appreciation for Gavin’s funny memes, which have since flooded social media. The growing list includes singer Katy Perry, Hoodie Allen, T-Pain, Team USA’s Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, and Laurie Hernandez. Camila Cabello’s Instagram display of her love for Gavin highlights his growing popularity.

“I think the world phenomenon is a good word for it,” Mastodon said. “There was definitely a buildup to it, but the fact that all of a sudden so many people are using his pictures and his videos, and there’s Twitter feeds or streams of our old Vines and some of the newer stuff, and just the rate at which this stuff is getting shared is pretty incredible.”

Meanwhile, Shawn Mendes, who has denied being Camila’s boyfriend, has a lot in common with Gavin. In fact, Mendes has even met Gavin. In August, Mendes reportedly invited Gavin to his show when he performed in Minneapolis, where Gavin attends kindergarten.

Camila Cabello’s Instagram boyfriend Gavin had appeared on Twitter in a picture of himself holding a blue placard with an inscription saying “I love Shawn Mendes.”

Twitter’s recent announcement of its decision to shut down Vine came as a shock to many users of the app. While Gavin still doesn’t have a Twitter or Instagram account of his own, he will likely survive the death of Vine.

Camila Cabello’s Instagram boyfriend Gavin, who recently signed a deal with Caryn Model & Talent Management, has since been featured in commercials on both print and digital platforms, the Daily Dot reported.

In related news, Camila Cabello’s newest single, “Bad Things,” which features Machine Gun Kelly, is rising on the Billboard charts. The song became Camila’s second top 40 hit after earning No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 on December 1.

Cabello’s video for “Bad Things” was directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who has also worked with Fifth Harmony.
