Kim Kardashian’s baby gifts request is one that you might not expect from the reality drama queen and rapper baby daddy Kanye West — instead of expensive swag, the high-fashion couple requested charity donations for the soon-to-be baby.
Kim Kardashian ‘s baby gifts might have normally been listed on a registry, as is custom in the states for a first baby in particular.
But instead of a registry, the power couple have decided that anyone who wishes to give something to their new baby instead take that cash and donate it to the Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Kanye’s hometown.
Kardashian’s baby gifts directive was confirmed by a rep for the famous sister, after a bunch of fake Kim and Kanye registries popped up online.
We imagine the popular couple will still receive their share of mini-swag from celeb friends like Beyonce and Jay-Z, but the hospital is already grateful for the request from Kim after it was made public yesterday.
In a statement after the announcement, Lurie Children’s Hospital explained what donations enable them to provide and enhance at their facility for kids in need :
“Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to Kim Kardashian and Kayne West for their thoughtfulness and support of the hospital.”
The statement continues:
“We wish them all the best in the upcoming arrival of their baby. Funds donated on behalf of Kardashian and West will be directed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Fund which will help care for the most critically-ill babies and their families.”
Before the Kardashian baby gifts request was made, Kim took some time out to chill with her sibs and family in Greece — making the most of the two weeks she has left before baby Kanye makes his or her much-anticipated appearance.
