Warning: The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers are ahead.

The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere is almost here. Fans are excited and nervous to find out who Negan killed with his barbed wire baseball bat, Lucille. Recently, executive producer Greg Nicotero spoke about Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character. What can viewers expect from Negan when TWD returns to AMC?

On the season finale of The Walking Dead , several members of Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) group were caught by the Saviors. Soon, Negan made his big introduction, which is the moment viewers had been waiting for. Unfortunately, it was decided that Negan’s victim was not going to be revealed in the Season 6 finale.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr , it seems that Negan may not have just killed one character , but two. A casting notice for “photo doubles” is leading some to believe that Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Sgt. Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) may have died. Fans will know for sure when Season 7 premieres.

In fact, it was teased to Entertainment Weekly that the first episode will pick up exactly where the Season 6 finale left off. There were theories that The Walking Dead fans would have to wait a few episodes before finding out who Negan killed. Thankfully, that will not be the case when the zombie series returns, as the Vine Report noted.

What else did Greg Nicotero have to say about The Walking Dead Season 7? For one, expect more speeches from Negan.

“Negan is that kind of guy,” Greg Nicotero explained to Entertainment Weekly . “He’s the kind of guy who imagines himself on stage at a high school production and he loves every second of it. So, I don’t really see a lot of quiet contemplative moments with Negan. I feel like with Negan it’s really going to be about him gesticulating and him sort of relishing in the sound of his own voice while he commands the stage in front of whoever’s alive.”

This is similar to how Negan is portrayed in the Walking Dead comic books. It is one reason why he is considered both a villain but also a character readers enjoyed seeing in the graphic novels. Negan is a unique character, and there is not anyone quite like him.

As for what else fans can expect from Negan, a few months ago, Jeffrey Dean Morgan hinted to Variety that his character would be sticking around for a few years. In the comic books, Alexandria joins forces with the Hilltop Colony and the Kingdom to deal with Negan. However, he isn’t killed, but taken prisoner. Even though he gets locked up in a cage, he seems to find a way out and enjoys taunting Rick Grimes. It is possible that this same scenario could happen in the TV show.

The actor also mentioned that as far as he knew, the versions of Negan in the comic books and TV show were going to be quite similar. However, fans should expect some changes so it isn’t too predictable. If both Glenn and Abraham die in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere, this is just an example of that. In the comic books, Glenn dies by Lucille, but that is all. If both die in the TV show, it will be a sad moment for fans and definitely would be a double whammy.

What do you think of what executive producer Greg Nicotero had to say about The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere? Do you believe Glenn and Abraham both die by Negan’s barbed wire baseball bat, Lucille? Will Negan be similar to the comic books, or will TWD change the character a bit for the television show?
