An explosion in Riverside, California leveled one house and damaged at least two others.
According to Fox News, no one was injured in the accident.
The explosion occurred early Friday morning on Rochise Drive in Riverside. The blast sparked a large fire and the flames quickly jumped to neighboring houses.
The Southern California Gas Company arrived on the scene to shut off the gas lines and fire fighters were able to put out the fire. Once the fire was extinguished, crews searched the rubble with the help of a cadaver dog but didn’t find any bodies.
Capt. Bruce Vanderhorst with the Riverside Fire Department, said: “It’s unfortunate someone’s house blew up, few houses were damaged. But we’re also very relieved that no one was injured, and no firefighters were injured.”
Residents in the area said that the house that exploded had been under construction for several months. No one is believed to have been living at the home at the time of the explosion.
Officials have not determined the cause of the accident yet. ABC notes that officials initially thought that it could have been a plane crash due to the size of the explosion. Officers currently believe that incident may have been caused by a gas leak.
