When The Inquisitr interviewed The Carrie Diaries’ AnnaSophia Robb , the actress revealed that she was excited for Carrie to have her first brunch outing with the girls. Well, it looks like those exciting brunch days around New York City are coming soon.
CW’s The Carrie Diaries has cast Samantha Jones, the role which was made legendary by Kim Cattrall for her vocal opinions on men and sex. The lucky girl who gets to portray Samantha Jones this time around is Lindsey Gort.
Gort will play the teenaged version of Samantha Jones, so it will be interesting to say the least what kind of person that character is in the 80s as opposed to the millennial version we all know and love.
Amy B. Harris, the executive producer of The Carrie Diaries said in a statement about Lindsey Gort’s role in the series:
“In another nerve-wracking search to create the amazing characters we all came to know and love on ‘Sex and the City,’ we went out in search this year for a young Samantha Jones. Lindsey Gort walked into the room and owned the part. Funny and sexy with a whiff of vulnerability and an amazing dash of outrageousness, Lindsey is our exciting choice to play the young Samantha Jones.”
Prior to her new gig, Lindsey Gort has done a few films including Destinea, Our Island, Phoenix, Forgotten Pills, and 2 Guns opposite Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg.
Going by the pictures released it looks like Gort more than fits the role. The first look we have sees Gort in an 80s-style crop top that looks to be way ahead of her time. Top that off with high-waisted jeans and a studded belt, and we just know she’s going to be the blonde bombshells that gives Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money.
