In a historic Wimbledon Men’s Final that will stream live Sunday, Andy Murray looks to add a second championship when he faces Milos Raonic, who — just three years after Murray became the first British tennis player in 77 years to win a Wimbledon title — could become the first Canadian to take the most coveted trophy in tennis.

The sixth-seeded Raonic will already become, when he steps on Center Court at Wimbledon Sunday, the first Canadian player to take part in a Wimbledon men’s final — an honor he earned when he unceremoniously dumped seven-time champ Roger Federer in the semifinals with a five-set thriller on Friday.

When the 25-year-old Canadian — who also becomes the first player born in the decade of the 1990s to play in a Wimbledon Men’s Final — upset the man who is arguably the greatest men’s tennis player of all time, he also ensured that the 2016 men’s final would be the first played at Wimbledon since 2002 without a player named Federer, Rafael Nadal, or Novak Djokovic.

Murray, a 29-year-old from Glasgow, Scotland, advanced to the final with a straight-sets thrashing of Czech Tomas Berdych on Friday to gain entrance into his 11th final at a major tennis tournament — a record for a men’s tennis player from Great Britain. But Murray has lost eight of his previous 10.

In Raonic he faces an intimidating opponent whose blazing serve, topping out at 144 miles per hour, has won him a tournament-high 137 aces. And on his second serve, Raonic has averaged 113 miles per hour — nearly the equal of Murray’s 117 miles per hour average first serve.

A win for Murray would be his third Grand Slam title, after he won the 2012 U.S. Open as well as Wimbledon in 2013.

Murray and Raonic have met on the court nine times since 2012, with the higher-ranked Scot taking six of those matches — including their last five meetings in a row. Earlier this year, Murray rolled to a straight sets grass-court victory over Raonic at the Aegon Championships in London, England.
