The best day of the year is almost upon us and companies around the country are doing everything they can to prepare the first Friday in June, which just so happens to be known as National Donut Day. It’s by far the the sweetest holiday in existence. And while many donut giants like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ Donuts are giving away freebies to customers, Oreo is taking somewhat of a different approach.

Since the popular cookie retailer doesn’t include a traditional donut in their lineup of sweet goodies, they decided to give consumers the best of both worlds by unveiling one of their most innovative creations to date — the Jelly Donut Oreo. That’s right, it’s like an Oreo and donut had a love child. The unique creation is comprised of two golden Oreo cookies on the outside with a custard ring and raspberry filled center on the inside, resembling the ever so popular, yet classic jelly-filled donut.

But there’s one catch — according to People Magazine , you can only purchase the Jelly Oreo Donut exclusively at Walmart stores starting this weekend. And even though Walmart isn’t giving away the cookies for free, they’re pretty reasonable at just $2.98 for a pack of 36. That’s just enough Oreos to tide you over while binging on your favorite Netflix show this weekend.

Just last year, Walmart customers were asked to take a poll to help the retailer choose which Oreo the store would carry in 2017. The three choices included Cookies & Cream, Caramel Apple, and of course, the Jelly Donut Oreo. Believe it or not, the Cookies & Cream Oreo won the competition but Walmart decided to release the second place Jelly Donut Oreo to the public anyways. Thank goodness for us.

Not surprisingly, Oreo enthusiasts took to Twitter to express their excitement over Oreo’s newest release. One user referred to the newest Oreo as “lit”.

“Omg check this…a jelly donut Oreo… cookies that taste like donuts…its lit now.”

Another user called Oreo’s latest cookie a great pairing with milk.

“How do you make Oreos an even better match with milk? Jelly Donut flavored Oreos! #OhYeah”

Oreo is no stranger to creating out-of-the-box cookies. Some of their past and present flavors include Red Velvet, Mint Creme, Lemon, Birthday Cake, Peanut Butter Cup, and Strawberry Shortcake just to name a few. And of course this Easter, the U.S. was blessed with Peep Oreos, which created a buzz for unique reasons.

Many people claimed on social media that the bright pink filling in the Peep Oreos was turning their stools pink. That’s right, it goes in like an Oreo and comes out like a dyed pastel egg. Needless to say, the jokes on Twitter were highly entertaining.

“My roommate ate a whole pack of oreo Peeps and left a pink stain in the toilet.”

Other users claimed that the Oreo also dyed their tongues pink, making it very hard to remove the stain while brushing.

“I tried Peep flavored Oreos yesterday. I’ve now brushed my teeth and tongue 6 times and they’re still pink. Is this just my life now?”

But if Oreos aren’t your thing and you still want to celebrate National Donut Day, you can check our your local donut shop for sweet deals. As the Inquisitr reported before , tons of donut retailers are participating in National Donut Day including Krispy Kreme, who plans to give customers a free donut, with no other purchase required. Should you choose to go to Dunkin’ Donuts instead, they’re offering a free classic donut with the purchase of any beverage.

How sweet it is to be alive at a time like this!
