Stan Lee’s Annihilator could soon be hitting a theater near you if film and television producer Barry Josephson has anything to do with it.

The Chinese superhero has attracted the attention of Josephson, whose credits include serving as executive producer on Bones and The Finder , UPI reported on Thursday, February 21.

The lead character in Annihilator is Ming, an imprisoned Chinese expatriate presented with two options: stay put or enter a top-secret US super-soldier program that incorporates the genetic enhancements of “various animal species,” UPI stated.

A screenplay for Stan Lee’s Annihilator has already been finalized with screenwriter Dan Gilroy ( Real Steel , The Bourne Legacy ) providing the words.

Gilroy is no stranger to action, and luckily for Stan Lee fans, neither is Josephson.

The Inquisitr stole a glance at the producer’s IMDb resume on Thursday and was pleased to see he served as executive producer to the short-lived TV series The Tick .

Lee, who has shown no signs of slowing down since turning 90 in December 2012 , gave both men his blessing on Thursday, stating that “Dan’s story and character is unlike anything I have developed before, so I wait with intrigue as we begin to reveal more details about the Annihilator franchise and to hear what audiences think as they immerse themselves into his world through the film.”

Lee added that he was “thrilled” at Josephson’s involvement as well.

The film will be produced in conjunction with Magic Storm Entertainment. No information on casting and release dates have been released at this time.

Let’s just hope it turns out better than Daredevil , a film Stan Lee hated by the way.
