Mitt Romney has been criticized during this campaign season for being “ out of touch ” with the common man. Well, it looks like the Romney family does the bulk of their shopping at big wholesale shops like the rest of us. Ann Romney shared some of her Costco list secrets with Rachael Ray earlier this morning.

Ann said: “I always start at Costco … Wholesale shops are big, you have to go with a game plan before you start.”

Romney was shopping for Mitt, her five sons, and their families on the show. The potential first lady spent $137.50 for enough food to feed 30 people. That works out to about $4.50 a head.

According to the Daily Mail , Romney filled her cart with items like raspberries, blueberries, frozen cream puffs, spinach and rotisserie chicken.

In addition to sharing her Costco shopping list, Ann also shared some shopping secrets that she’s learned over the years. For instance, Ann said that it’s important to grab the rotisserie chicken on the way out of the store.

Ann said:

“Rotisserie chicken is every cooks best friend … You want to buy it at the end of your shopping so it doesn’t heat up the food that’s in the rest of your basket.”

Ann is also a big fan of frozen desserts, saying that “they’re always ready to go”

Ann said that a typical buffet style dinner at the Romney household consists of rotisserie chicken, creamed spinach, roasted butternut squash, and frozen cream puffs with chocolate sauce and whipped cream for dessert. The potential first lady, who demonstrated how to make a Romney meatloaf, said that it doesn’t really matter what she makes because Mitt will eat anything.

Ann said:

“Mitt is not a picky eater. He will eat anything you put in front of him.”

ABC notes that this isn’t the first time that Ann and Mitt Romney have talked about shopping at Costco. In August, Fox News’ Chris Wallace said that he had heard that the Romney’s had an “unhealthy attraction” to Costco.

Ann responded: “We both love Costco. It’s got great produce.”
