Leonard Skinner was a basketball and gym teacher who helped the guys from rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd form a band and we’ve learned today that he has based away.
Skinner was 77 years old and had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. According to Skinner’s daughter he died today in an assisted living facility.
Skinner sent the group of boys who were acting up in his class to detention, an act that eventually led them to form a band and give him the honor of one of rocks biggest names…the rest is history.
