Alexis DeJoria is the newest wife for motorcycle customizer Jesse James, but it’s clear she didn’t marry him for his money or to learn a thing or two about cars.
Alexis DeJoria is actually the daughter of John Paul DeJoria, one of the co-founders of the Paul Mitchell hair care empire and Patron Spirits, which could put her in position to inherit a fortune. She and Jesse James were actually married on her family’s estate in Malibu .
With a net worth of $4 billion, John Paul DeJoria ranked No. 106 on the Forbes list of the richest Americans . Armed with only a high school degree, DeJoria went from living in his car to teaming with Paul Mitchell to launch a shampoo company with a $700 investment. They sold the product door to door, and today the company has close to $1 billion in sales.
It’s not clear how much money Alexis stands to inherit, but it’s safe to say she doesn’t need Jesse’s reality show and motorcycle customizing fortune.
Alexis DeJoria also knows a thing or two about cars. She is a professional drag racer , driving a 10,000-horsepower Nitro Funny Car on the NHRA circuit.
DeJoria started her NHRA career in 2005 and made a quick splash. Within eight months she advanced to the final two rounds and then went on to win the highly regarded Sportsman Nationals in Fontana, California.
In 2009, Alexis DeJoria made an even bigger commitment to racing, starting her own team from scratch called Stealth Motorsports. The co-owner and operator of the team for three years, DeJoria became one of the first women to do so.
She reached another milestone in 2010 when she competed in the first “woman vs. woman” race in her class. It seemed natural that Alexis DeJoria would find love with Jesse James, who makes a living manufacturing custom-made motorcycles.
Once CEO of the now-defunct West Coast Choppers, Jesse began dating Alexis in September 2012 shortly after he broke off his engagement with LA Ink star Kat Von D.
The marriage to Alexis DeJoria is the fourth for Jesse. He was also wed to Karla James, Janine Lindemulder and, most-notably, Sandra Bullock.
