Charles Ramsey, Cleveland hero, now says he’s broke and homeless after he helped save the three Cleveland women held captive for a decade.
According to the Huffington Post , Ramsey said he was fired from his job working in a kitchen because customers kept coming in to shake his hand.
“I’m broke, bro,” Ramsey told the Daily Mail in a video interview, “That’s the truth.”
What a difference it must be for Ramsey, who once said “ I get a paycheck, give the reward [money] to the kidnapped women .”
Daily Mail reported that in the last two months, Ramsey made close to $30,000 “including fees from lucrative corporate speaking engagements and $15,000 donated by well-wishers.”
They continued on to say that “he has been booked in for another four speaking slots and can expect his earnings to reach $50,000.”
So where has all that money gone? Ramsey said he bought himself a car, an $8,000 BMW according to reports. And the rest of the money? Ramsey told Daily Mail , “money goes fast if you have bills.”
“I don’t have an address, I don’t live anywhere. I go from house to house, to friend to friend, to family member to family member,” Ramsey told Daily Mail , “What I’ve been doing for the past four weeks is wearing out my welcome with everybody who knows me.”

The three girls where held against their will for 10 years, and many thought them to be dead.
At the time, Ramsey told reporters:
“I knew something was wrong when a little pretty white girl ran into a black man’s arms. Something is wroooong here. Dead giveaway. Deeeaaad giveaway. Either she’s homeless, or she’s got problems … that’s the only reason why she’d run to a black man.”
It was after the shock of running into the girl that Ramsey jumped into action and helped discover the two other women.
So what does Charles Ramsey want now? “Just give me a job,” is what he told Daily Mail .
