Previously, Sony’s Team Ico made two of the best games of the last decade, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus . Today, the studio announced its next project, the PlayStation 3-bound The Last Guardian , would release in the 2011 holiday season. Can I get a “yay” in here?
Like its spiritual predecessors, The Last Guardian features a gorgeous, pastelly look, and a young adolescent hero who has a companion to help him through his adventure. However, whereas in ICO you had a girl (the useless Yorda), and in Shadow of Colossus a horse (the awesome Argo), here you have a, uh … cat … chihuahua … eagle … bird creature thing.
Okay, so I don’t know what this is. All I know is I want to play with that damn thing until it inevitably dies at the end and I cry about it like the giant man-baby sensitive, new-age guy I am. Trailer time!
