Ashlee Simpson has a new modeling gig and she can thank her big sister Jessica for it.
The younger Simpson sister is the face of the new ad campaign for the new Jessica Simpson Fall 2013 Collection, appearing in a number of glamor shots taken by photographer Ellen von Unwerth in Agoura Hills, California.
The advertisements are actually just the start of Ashlee Simpson’s involvement in her sister’s fashion line. While Jessica is tending to her newborn baby, Ace Knute Johnson, Ashlee will be taking over some duties at Jessica’s fashion empire.
That includes her own fashion line.
“Yes [I’m designing my own line],” Ashlee told Life & Style . “It will be adult. It will definitely [be different from Jessica’s.]”
Ashlee Simpson already has a bit of experience in the fashion world. Two years ago she helped her big sister launch a clothing line for tweens called Jessica Simpson Girls, which she said was a fun experience.
“It’s so much fun to get to talk to the younger girls and see what they’re wearing because they deserve cool clothes, too,” Ashlee told Life & Style .
Ashlee said her line will reflect her personal style.
“I think there’s a time and a place for certain outfits, and for me, it’s also about comfort and kind of finding your own way with clothes,” she told us. “Knowing there is a time to mix and match and what mixes and matches [is always important]. It’s always good to try, though!”
Away from the fashion world, Ashlee Simpson has been making headlines for her budding relationship with actor Evan Ross , the son of Motown legend Diana Ross. The two have been friends for a long time, and recently have been spotted together on a series of dates around Los Angeles.
Ashlee Simpson will host a press party July 30 to announce the Jessica Simpson Fall 2013 Collection.
