Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik stepped out on Wednesday night for New York Fashion Week 2016.
On September 7, Gigi Hadid attended Tom Ford’s celebrity-studded bash as her boyfriend of nearly one year, Zayn Malik, walked the red carpet without her. In photos shared by the Daily Mail , Malik was seen on the red carpet and outside of the event, where he looked dapper in a black suit. As the outlet noted, Malik’s appearance at the event comes just days after he canceled next month’s scheduled performance in Dubai due to his recent struggle with anxiety.
One day prior to their fashion week appearance, a source claimed Gigi Hadid was doing everything she could to help the former One Direction singer as he attempted to get past his ongoing anxiety and panic attacks.
“[Gigi Hadid] has been doing everything she can to help Zayn overcome his anxiety and panic attacks. She is constantly giving him reassurance that he is safe and nothing bad is going to happen to him. When she’s away from Zayn, she texts him inspirational quotes from Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer,” a source told Hollywood Life on September 6.

“[Gigi Hadid] has a very calming affect on Zayn and will spend hours on the phone with him when he is having a bad day,” the insider continued. “She will remind him to take deep breaths and to do those things that relax him like drawing or painting. She does worry about him, but never shows it. She just stays as positive as she can when she’s helping him calm down.”
Gigi Hadid’s boyfriend first revealed his battle with anxiety in June after he canceled a performance at London’s Capital FM Summertime Fest in June. The show was expected to mark Malik’s first performance as a solo artist in his home country. However, after experiencing what he referred to as the “worst anxiety of my life,” he pulled out of the gig and released an emotional message about his struggles to his fans and followers on Twitter.
Following Malik’s revelation, Gigi Hadid posted a message of her own on Twitter, in which she applauded her man for being open with his mental issues.
“I’ve seen the battles you go through and the way you fight to get up there for your fans. Your bravery in those times makes me proud, but your honesty last night proved what you’re all about, being real,” Gigi Hadid wrote . “Human recognizes human. You made the best of the situation and have given your fans an opportunity to understand you better as a performer. Those who can find compassion now are the ones that deserve to watch you continue to grow. We are all here to support you and make each experience easier. Your talent and good heart will never lead you wrong.”

In other news, Gigi Hadid’s boyfriend was recently tied to a scandal involving Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. In August, as the former couple fought online after the “Cold Water” singer posted a photo of himself and Sofia Richie, his latest love interest, Bieber suddenly threw out the idea that Gomez had reportedly engaged in an affair with Malik during their relationship years ago. Although Gomez and Malik have remained silent in regard to their possible relationship, the drama surrounding Gomez’s encounter with Bieber remains in the headlines as Malik’s romance with Gigi Hadid continues.
