Feces Shooting Victim Expected To Survive

The “feces shooting” victim in a Phoenix, Arizona dispute is expected to survive, according to a recent report from AZ Central .

The dispute arose when a property owner found the 26-year-old victim sleeping on his property at Phoenix’s Warehouse District and asked him to leave. On closer observation, the property owner noticed feces close to where the man slept and demanded he clean it up.

The younger man ignored the demands and began to walk away. Investigators then said that the owner “chased the man down,” and a fight ensued near railroad tracks. The property owner claimed the man swung a chain with a padlock during the skirmish.

Fearing for his safety, that’s when the property owner produced a gun and fired at the man. According to Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson, the first shot missed and as the pair continued to struggle, the property owner fired again, hitting the younger man in the chest.

(Thus forever cementing this case as the “feces shooting” in the virtual halls of the Internet.)

Police said the wounded man was taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently in recovery.

Neither man was named in the dispute, and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office currently is reviewing the case to see if the owner will face any charges.

WHAS11.com pointed out that according to A.R.S. § 13-404, “a person is justified in threatening or using physical force against another when and to the extent a reasonable person would believe that physical force is immediately necessary to protect himself against the other’s use or attempted use of unlawful physical force.”

Gun violence is a growing problem in certain parts of the country, and stricter laws don’t seem to produce significant results as seen in the case of Chicago. Over the Fourth of July weekend, more than 70 people were shot and at least a dozen killed in spite of the city having some of the toughest laws in the country.

Supporters of gun control often believe that weaponry has no place but in the hands of proper authorities. However, a recent lawsuit claiming a Third Amendment violation in which armed police allegedly burst in to a man’s home and arrested him unlawfully has some rethinking that position.

What are your thoughts on gun control, and do you think the property owner in the “feces shooting” case was justified in firing on the man?
