When Jessica Simpson ended her run on the MTV reality series The Newlyweds, it didn’t look promising that Simpson would return to lead a television vehicle. However, that was then and this is now where reality television pretty much runs the show in prime time entertainment.
According to The Hollywood Reporter , Simpson isn’t going back on her word per se, but she will be starring in a NBC comedy that’s loosely based on her life. Currently, the singer and mommy-to-be is on the show Fashion Star, but soon she will be teaming up with NBC for an untitled scripted comedy.
The deal has been made between Universal Television, and Fashion Star producer Electus to co-produce a pilot for the upfronts, which will be based on a pitch developed by Robin and Nick Bakay. The pair will fashion the show which will be inspired by Jessica Simpson’s colorful life. We’re expecting some lines like “Is this chicken or is this tuna?” to spring up on the series.

From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mom, we see Jessica’s character approach a variety of ‘everyday’ circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud.”
