Andrew Bynum News ‘Filtered’ Through Agent, Center Won’t Work Out

Andrew Bynum news and rumors are swirling around the NBA unrestricted free agent. The 25-year-old center famously missed the entire 2012-2013 season with the Philadelphia 76ers because of a knee injury .

Bynum’s agent David Lee told Yahoo! Sports that half a dozen teams were interested and would be receiving medical reports about his rehabilitation. However, he also revealed that Andrew Bynum wouldn’t work out for the teams.

Hmm.

Sixers fans weren’t happy with Andrew Bynum’s performance — or lack thereof — last season. As Sporting News recapped the story:

“Bynum insisted from training camp he would play this season, only to shut it down for good on March 18. He then underwent season-ending arthroscopic surgery on both knees. Bynum earned $16.5 million…”

To add insult to injury, Bynum was caught on video dancing in Spain only two weeks after the Sixers’ season ended.

A Sports Illustrated report named Andrew Bynum as one of the top five highest risk big money players in the draft:

“Almost every bit of information on Bynum’s wobbly knees comes through the filter of his agent, who naturally paints a rather rosy picture of where his client stands in his rehab and allegedly impending return to the court…

“If healthy, Bynum is a definitive No. 3 on the free-agent big board, behind Dwight Howard and Chris Paul. But ‘if’ is a dangerous word in his case, as we’ve now waited through a full season of arbitrary deadlines, public missteps and broken promises of Bynum’s comeback.”

And you better know that Twitter is having fun with the news that Andrew Bynum won’t work out:

Forget the Dwight Howard sweepstakes, I want to know which foolish GM will think it’s a good idea to sign Andrew Bynum without a workout..
