Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are putting their musical skills to good use in their wedding.
The couple is set to wed Monday in the south of France, and the singers worked together to come up with their own wedding theme.
Lavigne said after one trip down the aisle in 2006 to Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley, she’s ready to take more creative control in her wedding to Kroeger.
“I’ve been doing it, I’m the girl,” Lavigne said . “I’m the one who has the crazy vision and he’s letting me be me. It’s a lot and I just want to make sure I really enjoy this amazing time … I want all the guests who come to have this once in a lifetime experience and I want everyone to say ‘Wow!’ and for it to be special for everyone, not just us.”
Avril Lavigne and her soon-to-be husband, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, have spent the last three days partying in Cannes and putting the finishing touches on their wedding . There is a bit of secrecy involved with the nuptials , as Lavigne and Kroeger are keeping guests in the dark regarding the location until they’re picked up.
“[Avril] picked Cannes because she’s spent significant time in Paris in the past few years and summered in places like St. Tropez,” an unnamed source told E! “She’s very immersed in French food, ambiance and culture. It’s her favorite place to be.”
The wedding is expected to be a small affair, with mostly family and friends. Avril has also requested that no pictures be released until sometime after the event.
Fans and followers were thrown off a bit this weekend by a tweet from Mike Heller, the CEO of the talent company representing Avril Lavigne. He tweeted , ”I’m in south of France about to see my little Rok star #avril get married I am so happy to be part of this celebration.”
This led many to believe that Chad and Avril had already gotten married , but a source later explained to Us Magazine that Heller “never tweeted the wedding happened, just said he was on his way and excited for his friend.”
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have also kept secret what their wedding theme will sound like.
