Several weeks ago, a third Sex and the City film was believed to be a possibility, but after Kim Cattrall, the actress who plays Samantha Jones, refused to participate, production on the potential film came to an abrupt halt, and rumors of feuds began swirling.
As Kim Cattrall attempts to battle back against the ongoing reports of her supposed diva behavior and outlandish demands, her co-stars, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, are remaining united and hopeful for the future of the franchise.
Over the weekend, as Parker and Nixon appeared alongside one another in an image shared on social media, Davis spoke to Entertainment Tonight ‘s Deidre Behar at the Stand Up For Pits Benefit in Hollywood, California, admitting that while she didn’t plan to discuss the issue at the event, she wanted her longtime fans to stay positive about a future Sex and the City film.
“I always have hope!” she proclaimed, according to the outlet’s November 8 report.
Although Davis wouldn’t say anything else about the possible movie, her hope is something that many fans of Sex and the City will surely appreciate. After all, they were left devastated after Cattrall seemingly shut down any possibility of the third film happening during an interview with Piers Morgan.
As Sex and the City fans likely heard, Cattrall made it clear to Morgan that she has said “no” to a third film in the past and will continue to do so because she has simply moved on from the franchise. She also shot down rumors of being a diva and making demands of her producers before taking aim at Parker and saying she could have been nicer.
“I don’t know what her issue is,” Cattrall said.
While Kim Cattrall is most definitely not willing to participate in a potential third Sex and the City movie, the rest of the cast continues to give hope to their fans. On Sunday, Parker and Nixon further fueled the rumors of a new film when they spent time with one another during a screening of Michael Patrick King and Bridget Everett’s new Amazon pilot, Love You More .
