Scott McCreery’s fall was something he probably wishes he could forget, but the country star is at least having a sense of humor about his embarrassing incident caught on tape. The American Idol winner was opening for Brad Paisley in Bethell, New York when he took a wrong step near the edge of the stage, falling right off to the ground below.
McCreery was belting out his version of Travis Tritt’s “T.R.O.U.B.L.E.” when the misstep occurred, and, though his pride may have been a bit wounded, the American Idol star was unhurt in the fall, 100.3 KILT reported . He got back up a moment later and continued singing.
In 2011, McCreery used an incredible run to win American Idol . Then 17, McCreery was one of the show’s youngest champions but has worked hard to avoid the slump that many of its champions face, USA Today reported. Since winning the show, the baritone singer has worked to build up a base of fans and establish himself on the country music scene.
His album Clear as Day sold more than one million copies in the first month while his first two singles, “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble With Girls,” were each downloaded more than 500,000 times.
In December, he won new artist of the year honor at the American Country Awards and then joined Brad Paisley’s Virtual Reality tour.
Scott McCreery’s fall brought out a sense of humor from the country singer. He took to Twitter to “blame” Brad Paisley for the incident.

Brad Paisley apparently returned the favor. The day after the Scott McCreery fall, Paisley apparently took some extra measures to ensure that the stage was safe and sound.
