Robyn Lawley might not look like the typical stick-thin model, but with her booming popularity and spate of recent sponsorships, she’s helping to make size irrelevant.
The 23-year-old Australian cover girl burst onto the modeling scene last year when she graced the cover of Vogue Italia along with two other plus-size models . Now, as Robyn Lawley builds her stature in the modeling world and becomes an increasingly desirable representative for the fashion world, she has also built a large base of fans through her inspirational works.
Lawley maintains a food blog, “ Robyn Lawley Eats ,” which both shares her love of food and encourages girls to be satisfied with their bodies. She has also talked openly about her transition from the world of “straight-size” modeling to “plus size.”
“I wasn’t a straight-size model for long,” Robin Lawley told Models.com. “I’ve always naturally been just a bigger girl. So, I found out I could model plus-size around 19. My sister suggested it to me. I just thought it was for older women, I didn’t think I could do it at my age. I was quite offended in the beginning.”
British lingerie brand Boux Avenue just announced that Robyn Lawley will be the new face of their latest campaign, The Huffington Post reported . The move is meant to appeal to “a curvier demographic,” the report said, with the size 16 Lawley replacing size 10 model Ola Jordan as the public face of the brand.
Robyn Lawley is a good representation of Boux Avenue’s products as well. The Huffington Post noted that the brand’s bras come in a range of sizes, from 30A to 40h, and its waist sizes range from 8 to 20.
