Dylan plays the character Thomas in the Maze Runner series and was reportedly filming a scene standing on the back of a set designed to look like the back of a train. O’Brien allegedly fell from the set and into the path of an incoming car and was subsequently run over.

According to TMZ , Dylan O’Brien suffered numerous broken bones in the accident. Entertainment Weekly notes that 20th Century Fox has informed the media that O’Brien was injured while filming The Death Cure and that production has been halted.

“Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery.”

Though the production of the filming was shut down, Maze Runner writer James Dashner took to Twitter to inform fans that the film would be complete after Dylan heals from his injuries.

I just want to let everyone know that yes, Dylan was hurt, but that he’s going to be okay. Not life threatening in any way.
