Morena Baccarin , Hollywood’s acknowledged queen of science fiction, is seeking to delay her divorce from producer/director Austin Chick. Brazilian-born Morena is pregnant with her second child. It’s a high-risk pregnancy, and her doctor has ordered Morena, now eight months pregnant, on bed rest. Her doctor says giving a deposition would be “ unnecessarily stressful ” for Morena, according to the UPI , and that it would be best for Morena Baccarin to delay the deposition until 30 days after the birth of her child.

People Magazine reports that Chick Austin filed for divorce in June of 2016. He and Morena Baccarin have a 2-year-old son, Julius. However, Morena’s second child isn’t her husband’s child. Morena says she is pregnant by her Gotham co-star Ben McKenzie, and as previously reported by The Inquistr , the two plan to marry as soon as she is legally free to do so. Chick Austin has claimed that he and Morena had not yet separated when she became pregnant, and there are rumors he may request a DNA test to determine paternity.
This is the 21st century, so Morena’s adultery probably won’t adversely affect her career, the way Ingrid Bergman was shunned by Hollywood for years after she left her first husband for Italian director Roberto Rossellini.
Although she has appeared in a wide variety of TV shows and plays, Morena Baccarin is best known for her science fiction roles.
Her first TV role was as Inara Serra , the beautiful Companion on Joss Whedon’s Firefly in 2002. Morena Baccarin reprised the role of Inara in the Serenity in 2005.

In 2005, Morena Baccarin provided the voice of superheroine Black Canary for the animated series Justice League Unlimited .
In 2006, Morena Baccarin played the evil Adria, the superhuman anti-messiah of the Ori, in Stargate: SG-1 , a role she continued in the 2008 movie Stargate: The Ark of Truth .

In the 2009 reboot of V , Morena Baccarin played Anna, the leader of the alien Visitors. She was twice nominated for a Saturn Award for her work in V . Her Firefly co-star, Alan Tudyk, was also in the V reboot.
In 2014, Morena did the voice of Cheetah, Wonder Woman’s arch-enemy, in The Brave and the Bold , in the episode “Triumvirate of Terror.”
In the 2014 reboot of The Flash , Morena Baccarin provides the voice of supercomputer Gideon. In the Legends of Tomorrow spin-off, Amy Pemberton takes over that role.
Also in 2014, Morena Baccarin did the voice of Talia al Ghul for Son of Batman , a role she reprised this year in Batman: Bad Blood . Talia is the daughter of the villainous Ra’s al Ghul and has a complicated relationship with Batman.
Morena Baccarin is currently playing Dr. Leslie Thompkins in Gotham . One of her co-stars, Ben McKenzie, plays Detective James Gordon, the future police commissioner of Gotham City. In the show, as in real life, she is pregnant with his child.

In the recently released Deadpool , Morena plays Deadpool’s love interest, Vanessa Carlyle. Morena Baccarin liked the fact that Vanessa wasn’t “cowering in a corner, waiting to be rescued.”

In the upcoming animated film Malevolent , Morena will be providing the voice of the evil Gamemaster. Star Trek’s William Shatner will be co-starring with her as the Overseer.
In addition to her roles in science fiction and superhero movies and TV shows, Morena Baccarin has also performed in several other projects. She played Nurse Jessica Kavala in Heartland and Jessica Brody in Homeland . Morena Baccarin was nominated for both an Emmy and a Screen Actor’s Guild Award for her work in Homeland .
