Jennifer Lawrence On Being Lonely Every Saturday Night And Blaming Herself For Pay Gap

Jennifer Lawrence has recently decided it’s best not to delve into chatting about her dating life post-split from her various boyfriends, during interviews with various publications. Lawrence, who split from Coldplay front man Chris Martin earlier on this year after an on and off relationship, feels that guys are just a bit mean to her, and wishes that she could date someone who had no idea who she is.

The Daily Mail relays words that Jen spoke during an interview with Vogue , during which Lawrence did, in fact, end up sharing about her love-life and love lost. Lawrence even made it sound as though she struggles to find dates.

“I am lonely every Saturday night. Guys are so mean to me., I feel like I need to meet a guy, with all due respect, who has been living in Baghdad for five years who has no idea who I am.”

Jennifer is now speaking out about the interview and noting that she refuses to give anymore interviews during which she is questioned about splits and relationships, seeing as she feels her words were misunderstood.

The New York Daily News relayed Lawrence’s words about being less forthcoming when she spoke during a Times Talk interview, recently.

“I’m never doing an interview during a breakup ever again!…I think what I was trying to get across is that I don’t feel a lack of something not being in a relationship…”

Additionally, Lawrence was recently vocal about a subject that she does not wish to stop emphasizing. That being the gender wage gap. The star spoke on PBS about the issue and admits that she, as many women do, blames herself for accepting lesser pay. The Cut shares Lawrence’s well-voiced opinion and essentially says that she uses her time in the spotlight to speak up for women who don’t have a voice.

“I feel awkward negotiating, I feel uncomfortable asking for more money, I don’t want to seem like a brat. I don’t want to seem like all these things that are only words that are used for women. [T]here was no one to blame but myself. I want to be that person who will say that thing that’s really hard to say, that’s really awkward and really difficult. One day I want to be able to just say it, and not make a joke, and not try to make it cute, but to just say it.”

The pay gap between male and female actors was likely always a known fact. However, it wasn’t until the Sony hacks that the true variations and discrepancies of pay between men and women in Hollywood were truly revealed. Jennifer has since been open as to her take on the issue, and went so far as to write an essay about being the highest paid actress in Hollywood, yet still so far underpaid against the highest paid male actors.

“When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with d***s, I didn’t get mad at Sony. I got mad at myself. I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early.”

As Lawrence noted, she has found it tough to bite her tongue on the matter of gender bias and has gone as far to say that people don’t like celebrities who always talk and use their popularity on agenda, but she also knows that if she stays quiet on this matter, then things will never change. Lawrence is never afraid to share her true feeling and belief on a subject and her intelligence and wit when doing so makes people listen and continue to admire her.
