Jennifer Lawrence has a way of getting under your skin. Just ask Lindsay Lohan. A simple off-the-cuff remark has offended both Aliana and Lindsay Lohan. While one can see how Lawrence’s remark might offend the Lohan sisters, it might also be suggested that Jennifer was only calling it as she sees it.
What Did Jennifer Lawrence Say That Set Lindsay Lohan Off So Badly?
It all started with Ms. Lawrence’s guest appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert , when The Hunger Games actress started talking about overworking herself. Jennifer said that she knows when she’s been pushing her body too hard because her body pushes back.
She then revealed that she vomits, due to nausea that comes from so much stress. Lawrence went on to make the remark that has landed her into so much hot water with the Lohan sisters.
“I get, like, Lindsay Lohan grade exhaustion, but without any drugs or alcohol. I’m always in bed early, but I’m still tired.”
Lawrence continued be telling a story about vomiting on the set of Joy , though not due to the stresses of having been overworked. The scene in question called for Lawrence and a co-star to be spinning while kissing, but the motion proved to be too much for the Joy actress, who had been suffering from a stomach virus at the time.
The scene ended up requiring several takes, with Lawrence rinsing with mouthwash between the shots.
Aliana Lohan Caught That Jennifer Lawrence Remark And She Was Not Amused
It was Aliana, Lindsay’s sister, who caught Jennifer Lawrence’s remark. She was quick to respond, even before Lindsay had a chance. Aliana tweeted her own response immediately, saying that she tries not to involve herself in negative drama, but she felt that she had a duty to stand by family. She added that she felt disappointed in Jennifer and that Lawrence had lost a fan.
Lindsay Lohan responded to her sister’s tweet, adding a quote by Maya Angelou.
“Thank you sister…Maybe who you’re referring to should learn to support others like #mayaangelou,” she wrote.
“You may shoot me with your words, you may cut me with your eyes, you may kill me with your hatefulness, but still, like air, I’ll rise,” is the Maya Angelou quote referenced by Lohan, which is pictured against an orange sky.
Dina Lohan, Lindsay and Aliana’s mother, has also commented on Lawrence’s remarks, adding that she too has lost respect for The Hunger Games actress.
“It was disappointing that she didn’t have her peers’ back,” Dina added. “You shouldn’t trash anyone, it was just surprising. My family sticks together.”
Ms. Lawrence has yet to respond to the Lohan family’s comments, and even if she does, it’s unlikely that Jennifer will say anything the Lohans want to hear. Ms. Lawrence has a history of speaking her mind, a trait that many of her fans view as one of Jennifer’s greatest strengths.
In fact, this isn’t the first run-in that the Lohan family has had with Lawrence. In another interview, Jennifer called out Dina Lohan for having poor taste.
“My mom talked about Hunger Games on the red carpet at the Academy Awards, which was something I had told her a million times not to do,” Jennifer said in a 2012 interview. “She’s like Dina Lohan! But she has good taste.”
Currently, Jennifer Lawrence is starring alongside Bradley Cooper in the David O. Russell drama Joy . The film tells the story of Joy (Lawrence), who rises to become a powerful matriarch over four generations and the head of a business empire.
