Meghan Trainor was at the American Music Awards on November 22, and had a lot to say before, during, and after the award ceremony.

During the red carpet Meghan Trainor spoke with E! Online ‘s Giuliana Rancic about what she looks for in a man. Giuliana Rancic had a list of men’s attributes and she began with the latest hairstyle trend for men: man buns. Meghan Trainor’s response was a conditional one.

“Depends. If they’re a musician, ok. If they’re not, then it’s weird.”

As for guys who take gym selfies, it was a resounding “nope.” The issue of dad bods was next on the list, and Meghan Trainor was somewhat open to the idea. What Meghan Trainor really seems to look for in a man is if he is a musician. When that option was presented to her, she very quickly stated, “yes, absolutely.”

What does that mean for musical partner Charlie Puth? After the red carpet, Meghan Trainor went into the American Music Awards where she performed “Marvin Gaye” with Charlie Puth. The two spent a portion of their performance making out on stage, which may have been a response to Giuliana Rancic’s earlier question about what Meghan Trainor looks for in a man.

However, Charlie Puth quickly denied reports that the two are dating. He explained to USA Todayhow he and Meghan Trainor are just friends and collaborators.

“Meghan and I are good enough friends that we can laugh about it now. At first, we were like, ‘Holy (expletive), what did we just do?’ I have a girl kind of in my life right now that I’m not making too public and I don’t want people to get the wrong idea. But without Meghan’s initial push, I wouldn’t really be anywhere. Meghan really helped me by being featured on my first record (Marvin).”

Meghan Trainor has been busy collaborating not just with Charlie Puth, but with Ariana Grande and Who is Fancy as well. On the season finale of Dancing with the Stars on November 24, the three singers sang the pop song, “ Boys Like You .” Master Herald called the rendition “ energetic and flirty ” while highlighting the chemistry that they all have together.

On Ariana Grande’s Honeymoon Tour , Who is Fancy was the opening act. He knew Meghan Trainor back when she lived in Nashville, Tennessee when she was 19-years-old and also opened for her on tour. It was Who is Fancy that first approached Meghan Trainor about collaborating, and his writing skills were so good she had to say yes.

One other collaboration that Meghan Trainor is involved in is with girl group Fifth Harmony. On the group’s debut album, Meghan Trainor co-wrote their hit song, “Sledgehammer.” She’s back to collaborate on another track for their second album, working on a song entitled, “Tinderella.” If the work is as successful for Fifth Harmony as the original collaboration, they could end up making enough money to give away the albumlike the band did with the first recording.

As MTV reports, group member Ally Brooke is really happy with the fact that the band was able to work with the singer again. She had several complimentary things to say about Meghan Trainor.

“I’m not going to say too much about it, but it’s really cool, it has really great production. The lyrics are very clever which is what I’ll say. She’s so much fun and she was in the studio when we recorded it which was awesome, she’s amazing.”

Since her breakout hit, “All About That Bass” in 2014, Meghan Trainor has carved a successful path for herself. Many other musicians have recognized her talent and have recruited her to help make powerful music.
