Samsung is financing the tour and marketing for all of Rihanna’s Anti promo efforts. She secured an unprecedented deal with the company that industry insiders say is worth $25 million. Her 8th studio album will be available across Samsung platforms – which has created an enriching mobile app experience for her fans. It’s a deal similar to the one Jay Z signed with the company for $5 million when he dropped his Magna Carta Holy Grail album. He went platinum in a week thanks to Samsung’s pre-purchases of the album.
The diva has been slowly releasing teasers for her highly anticipated Anti , which Consequence Of Sound (via Teen Vogue ) reports will drop Friday, November 27, via Tidal, with a wider release across other formats available December 4. Rihanna explained the delay of the album to NME in a September interview.
“To me it’s never done until it’s done. Until the final moment. I have so many songs I love – and they’re so different – that it’s hard to actually put them all on the same album.”
Last week, Rihanna posted a new teaser video on Instagram along with a link to mobile app AntiDiary.com. The site’s homepage features the phrase “Patience. You’ll hear her voice when it’s time,” and links to an Instagram account called “ iamthekeyholder ” – where users are prompted to explore and find hidden keys that unlock “Rihanna’s memories” and other gems. According to a statement , the mobile app marks “just the beginning of an unforgettable exclusive journey through Rihanna’s life story.”
Now she has debuted another Samsung collaboration, in partnership with theatre company Punchdrunk, which finds an angelic Rihanna playing with children and uncovering a key that unlocks her Anti album cover art, peep the video teaser below, and follow along at AntiDiary.com.

In addition to prepping the new album and tour logistics, Rihanna has been busy launching her new accessories line as well as a beauty & styling agency called Fr8me. “Hair, makeup and styling play an important role in creativity,” Rihanna tells THR (of her Fr8me venture). “I am very involved with that part of my process, so this agency was an organic thing for me to do.”

Back in October she told the NY Times that the one thing she doesn’t have time for is dating.
“Guys need attention,” she explained. ‘”They need that nourishment, that little stroke of the ego that gets them by every now and then. I’ll give it to my family, I’ll give it to my work — but I will not give it to a man right now.”
She also told the publication what impresses her mother the most about her stellar career.
“She’s always impressed when she sees me being a little sassy or sharp, when she sees me defending myself. It makes her feel safe, like she doesn’t have to worry about me.”
