The show must go on. Justin Bieber’s show at the Apollo Theater on Monday didn’t go as planned. But it may be one of the most memorable shows on his tour. The famed theater had a power outage leaving Bieber without microphones, speakers, lights, or music, but the teen idol didn’t want to disappointing his fans. So he took to the stage to dance a silent dance, and sing his hit “Boyfriend” with the help of his screaming fans.

His manager Scooter Braun said:

“It was one of the most special nights I have ever been a part of.”

CBC reports that the power outage occurred toward the end of the show and only affected the stage instruments, microphones, and some lighting. The problem was supposed to be fixed in a few minutes but after more than a half hour of waiting, Bieber decided to step back out on stage.

“He started to get frustrated, because it had been 40 minutes…. He walks out, he literally quiets the crowd, and he says, ‘I’m sorry the power is out…[But] you guys have always had my back. I’m going to sing Boyfriend and you’re going to sing it back to me.”‘

Nina Flowers, a spokesperson for the Apollo, said:

“What it turned into was an Apollo moment, like one of those impromptu things… He could have stopped; he could have not gone on and said, I did everything. but he came back on… It was a really special moment.”

Here’s the video of Justin Bieber singing “Boyfriend” at the Apollo theater during a power outage.
