Jill Dillard is busy filming her own portion of the TLC special Jill & Jessa: Counting On in Central America as she works to grow support for her Dillard Family Ministries. Therefore, it seems that she will not be returning to the United States to meet sister Jessa Seewald’s first child, Spurgeon Elliot Seewald.

The Duggar daughters are close, so when Jill recently came back to the U.S. for a visit, many thought it would include Jessa’s birth. However, with Jessa’s pregnancy extending past her due date, the Dillards headed back to Central America before she was able to give birth. Though Jill will not be returning to the U.S. to meet baby Spurgeon, she is encouraging Jessa to bring the baby to meet her in Central America.

Jill Dillard recently posted an open letter to her sister Jessa Seewald. She congratulated her on the birth of her first child and gave her some advice. Jill told the new mom to take all the help she can get in these first few months, and it appears the Duggars are already stepping in to lend a helping hand. A photo of some omelettes made by Michelle for the new parents was recently posted to the Duggar Family Official Facebook page.

Jill says that though she wasn’t able to be physically present for the birth, she was happy to be “a part” of the birth from Central America. Therefore, it seems that Jill likely FaceTimed her way into the birth room and provided support virtually to her laboring sister. Jill is familiar with the birthing process as she is a Certified Professional Midwife. Despite her experience with home births, Jill had complications during labor and ended up giving birth to her son, Israel, in a hospital via c-section. Though Jessa didn’t end up with a c-section and successfully birthed a healthy baby boy, who she later named Spurgeon, at home, it wasn’t without difficulties.

Jessa recently opened up with People Magazineabout the difficult home birthand the complications that followed the birth of her son. Though baby Spurgeon Elliot Seewald was healthy at birth, Jessa suffered severe bleeding. (You can listen to the 911 call that Michelle Duggar made here). She was rushed to the hospital for a blood transfusion while her new baby remained at home with her husband, Ben Seewald. She says that not having her baby immediately after birth was difficult and not at all what she had expected.

“I had dreamed about those first moments, getting to breastfeed right away, all that. And so when I had to go to the hospital, it was a shock.”

Though it didn’t end up as she had expected, she says that he is healthy, happy, and a miracle. Meanwhile, Jill Dillard says that she is excited to be on the motherhood journey with her sister. She notes that it will be special for the pair, as their sons will be so close in age that they will share many milestones together and maybe even share clothes. Though Jill sounds eager to meet baby Spurgeon Seewald, she mentioned no plans to come visit. In fact, in her letter to her sister, Jill notes that Jessa should come visit her in Central America.

“We love and miss y’all! You’ll have to come for a visit so we can meet our little adorable nephew/cousin!”

Jill also mentioned that baby Israel and baby Spurgeon will have to FaceTime often so that they can get to know each other. In fact, it seems that the FaceTime between the cousins has already begun. Jill Dillard’s Facebook fan page recently shared a sweet photo of Israel and Spurgeon on FaceTime together. Israel looks interested in his baby cousin while little Spurgeon sleeps.
