A snarky Facebook page all about the Duggar family has announced a Duggar Halloween costume contest and anyone can enter. See some scary suggestions here.

The Duggar family celebrates the autumn season, but they actually don’t celebrate Halloween , as the Duggar daughters Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger explained in the book Growing Up Duggar .

“Magic, sorcery, witches, spell-casting and the like are all part of the demonic realm that God wants us to stay away from. One specific thing that our parents have always been careful about is magic, which often shows up in children’s movies.”

So, for the authentic Duggar family Halloween costume, stay away from witches and demons and work your magic creating a winning costume. The prize offered on Facebook is a “pickled pumpkin award.”

To dress as Duggar family matriarch Michelle, you need to duplicate her famous mullet hairstyle and her home permanent. Denim is always appropriate for Michelle. Add a baby and a picture of all 19 kids and the look is complete.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar lend to the perfect his-and-her Halloween costumes. This idea works even better if the wife is pregnant and carrying a baby or two.

Wigs are in order for most people to get the right Duggar look. Top that off with a few props – like a Tator Tot casserole made with Michelle’s recipe and pictures of 19 kids – and you, too, might be next in line for your own reality TV show.

The Duggar family parents are most recognizable when wearing matching shirts, preferably in a yellow-green color. To be an authentic Michelle, don’t ever tuck in the shirt tail.

Facial expressions are all-important when portraying the Duggar parents. Some classic examples were parodied in a video by Funny or Die , right after the first Josh Duggar scandal came to light in May.

Speaking of the eldest of the Duggar family’s 19 kids, new photos were just released of Josh Duggar’s profile images which he uploaded to the adultery dating site Ashley Madison. His clever disguises didn’t seem to fool anyone, even if he hadn’t used his real name, which he did. The second photo would make an excellent costume to look like Josh.

For a teenager, try duplicating the wardrobe Josiah Duggar picked out to wear to his graduation from homeschool. Josiah, like all of his 18 siblings, went to homeschool at his mom’s kitchen table and the graduation was held in the Duggar family kitchen.

Just because the Duggar family doesn’t dress up for Halloween doesn’t mean they have an aversion to wearing costumes. Last month, 14 Duggar family members dressed up as pirates to get a free box of a dozen donuts at Krispy Kreme. That is to say, each one of the 14 Duggars got a dozen dozens – 168 donuts in total.

Even Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s baby got a dozen donuts. Speaking of Jill and Derick, they are either dressed as pirates in this photo or they are dressed as missionaries. When they visited Krispy Kreme, they were in the U.S. all during September while they were collecting money from donors , while saying they were missionaries in Central America.

The family took a lot of flak in comments on the Duggar Family official Facebook page for taking all of those free donuts. Many felt their behavior was hypocritical and not in keeping with Christian values.
