Kanye West Claims He Still Wants To Run For President In 2020

Kanye West for President? No, he wasn’t kidding.

At this point, most people have heard Kanye West’s speech from the 2015 VMA’s, and for those who thought he may have been a bit intoxicated at the time of his speech, the rapper turned fashion designer has confirmed that he really does want to run for President in 2020.

Now before everyone panics, Kanye has said he “definitely” wanted to run for President in 2020, but that doesn’t mean that he will. While talking with Vanity Fair , Kanye said he was definitely thinking about it, and when Jeff Kravitz asked Kanye if he thought there would have been a greater outcry resulting from the rapper saying he wanted to run for president, Kanye responded with the following.

“As soon as I said that, it was like, ‘Wait a second, we would really be into that, because actually if you think about it, he’s extremely thoughtful. Every time he’s ever gotten in trouble, he was really jumping in front of a bullet for someone else. He’s probably the most honest celebrity that we have.’”

It seems like Kanye West believes that the general public, at least those who attended the VMA’s, didn’t totally hate the idea of him running for president, and while he may have had some supporters, recent comments have the rapper in some hot water.

After Kanye had admitted that he supported presidential-hopeful, Ben Carson , people were taking to social media to retaliate.

While Kanye tends to get himself into some hot water with his statements, he does believe that all the current Presidential hopefuls have qualities that each other need. According to CNN , Kanye said that he believed “all the people running right now have something that each of the others needs.”

“The idea of this separation and this gladiator battle takes away from the main focus that the world needs help and the world needs all the people in a position of power or influence to come together.”

It sounds like Kanye may have some decent things to say when it comes to at least growing up and becoming a better person. While we can’t say for sure if Kanye is serious about actually running for President, he did say that there will come a time when he will become something more than a musician.

“It’s fun to be a rock star, and I’ll never not be one I guess, but there’ll be a point where I become my mother’s child. With all the things I’ve done that people would consider to be accomplishments, what’s the point where I become the person that Donda and Raymond West raised? My parents’ child.”

Well, we know Kanye West is “definitely” thinking about running for President in 2020, but there is still quite a bit of time before anything concrete is decided.
