While travel guides are great when planning a vacation, travel bloggers offer a far more personalized experience of your chosen destination. Whether their experiences were good or bad, they tell it like it really is.

There are literally thousands of travel guides available for every possible destination on Earth. In paper or digital form, you can get detailed information about anywhere, but it all tends to be a little dry.

Travel bloggers, on the other hand, give an insight into what will really happen when you travel through India, Peru, Australia, or Timbuktu. Spaceships Rentals published a list of 10 travel blogs that are well worth following, and throughout this article, tweets from some of these and various other travel bloggers are included to give an idea of the scope of their knowledge and experience.

The photos posted by travel bloggers of the various destinations visited are that much more authentic and personal, giving a far more accurate view of life in the particular country.

Many travel bloggers have made it their life’s work to spend their time on the go. It becomes almost an addiction to them as they travel from one country to the next. Some travel blogs outline how the bloggers left home with little money and then worked their way around the world, doing strange and wonderful jobs in foreign climes, ending up being reluctant to return home to a normal, mundane life.

One example is this guy who worked for a company in Italy making balsamic vinegar and ended up making a Breaking Bad parody, just for the fun of it. Not bad for a day’s work.

Travel bloggers also outline the various strange and unusual laws you need to watch out for when visiting various countries, always handy to avoid a budget-smashing fine or, even worse, a trip to a foreign jail.

Selfies are a major part of today’s world. While in the past you had to hand your camera over to locals, begging them to take your photo to immortalize your travels, nowadays with a good selfie stick you can do it yourself. A perfect example of this can be seen on the Backpacker Boy website, where the travel blogger tells a love story in 59 selfies taken in many amazing locations.

Some travel bloggers take the whole family along on their travels, outlining tips for other families traveling to various locations in the world.

Even the most expert travel blogger gets lost from time to time and can advise you on how to enjoy the experience, rather than get into a huge panic.

As can be seen, Twitter is a valuable source of information about traveling to various worldwide destinations. Browse around, find the best travel bloggers, and plan your trip accordingly.
