Is Nina Competing With Her Former Vampire Diaries Boyfriend?
While the couple seems to have no problem showing the world how they feel about one another, some fans, including those following everything and anything related to The Vampire Diaries , are beginning to wonder if such a public love affair might have more to do with the past than a present romance. Some suggest that Nina is trying to make a statement either to Ian Somerhalder or possibly to fans expecting a reunion for the former couple. It certainly seems as though Dobrev is trying to make it clear that she has moved on with her life, just as Nikki Reed’s new husband has done.
Public Appearances Confirm Dobrev and Stowell’s Love Is Real
Others, like an attendee at a dinner party at SKY Vault Penthouse, where the couple were also guests, seem to have no doubts that their happiness with one another is absolutely genuine. The eyewitness told E! News that Dobrev and Stowell “were in attendance and sitting close and acting really cute.”
Apparently the couple has grown even closer, because everyone was left commenting on the cuteness overload that was displayed by Nina and Austin.

“You can tell how much they love each other just by the way they speak and their mannerisms toward one another,” a source said. “Austin is such a gentleman and treats Nina with such respect.”
Recently, Ian Somerhalder’s account was hacked and a tweet that was seemingly sent out by Ian professed his love for Dobrev, but the former Vampire Diaries actress wasn’t at all phased by the tweet. In fact, she declined to remark on the incident at all. Whether Ms. Dobrev is trying to prove that she’s moved on from the past or has simply become too committed to her relationship with Stowell, one thing is clear: Nina and Austin are in it for the long haul.
Meanwhile, on the career front, it seems Nina is having difficulties finding work in motion pictures and, with no new roles, the actress may find her options growing more limited. Without new credits to her name, Nina Dobrev is just another pretty face and Hollywood has no shortage of attractive waitresses.
