Tyra Banks revealed that she has undergone IVF treatments to get pregnant but failed. The former supermodel dreams of having children soon, but it has been difficult for her.
“It’s difficult as you get older. It’s not something that can just happen,” Banks told People in an interview.
Talking about her failed IVF , the former supermodel revealed she had “traumatic moments” with the treatment.
She said she had wanted to have kids since she was 20, but she kept putting it off since she has a very demanding career and a business to manage. According to her, since she was 24, she would promise herself every year that she would have kids in three years, but it did not happen. Now that she wants to start a family with her current boyfriend, Erik Asla, she wants not just one child but “a litter.”
Banks positively declared:
“I’d love a litter! Maybe they’ll be running the family business. I do want a legacy. But I’ll be retired, chilling, eating. Maybe I’ll be 200 pounds! But I’ll be happy!”
But what she wants most, is to be the kind of mother her child can come to for anything, she told People .
The America’s Next Top Model host is not the only one who has been struggling to get pregnant. Chrissy Teigen has been going through the same problem too.
Teigen and Banks discussed fertility isssues in Tyra Presents Fab Life . According to Teigen, questions about plans to have children could be very hurtful for a woman who is struggling to conceive.
Teigen told the audience that she and her husband are having trouble getting pregnant. She revealed that they have already sought medical help. “We would have kids five, six years ago if it’d happened,” the supermodel said. “But my gosh, it’s been a process!”
As for those people who keep asking her about their plans to have kids:
“So, anytime somebody asks me if I’m going to have kids, I’m like, ‘One day, you’re going to ask that to the wrong girl who’s really struggling, and it’s going to be really hurtful to them. And I hate that. So, I hate it. Stop asking me!’”
Banks agreed with her co-host, saying people don’t know what she is going through and she is tired of constantly seeing questions on her social media accounts from people asking why she doesn’t have kids.
