A Louisiana high school football player has died after suffering an injury during a game.

According to Fox News , 16-year-old Tyrell Cameron , a Franklin Parish High School player, was fatally injured as he tried to cover a punt in the fourth quarter of the game against Sterlington on Friday night.

Johnny Ogden, an investigator with the parish coroner’s office, said Tyrell collapsed after an impact with another player. Tyrell was immediately transported to the emergency room at the Franklin Medical Center by the Northeast Louisiana Ambulance Service.
